Publicly listed company QBNK Holding AB has signed an agreement with scientists from the University of California in Davis (UC Davis), Sacramento, CA, to use QBank as a platform for their research. QBNK’s digital expertise and products will be used in an entirely new context – the ability to analyze great quantities of high-resolution images from electron-microscopes faster and better than ever before.
At the moment an extensive study is being conducted at UC Davis where mainly proteins and cells are being 3D-photographed. These images are processed and analyzed manually today. These current research methods have been used for an extensive period of time and QBank till both help ease and speed up work, which will bring faster results and more accurate analysis.
This project will be conducted by American scientists led by Holland Cheng, Professor in molecular and cellular biology. QBank will be developed further to adapt to research and adjacent companies’ need of a more effective and modern image analysis.
As far as QBNK can determine there is currently no technology available anywhere in the world that mirrors the solution we and the American scientists can co-develop by adapting the platform QBank. The market will initially consists of the ca 3 000 research facilities within relevant research on a global scale. This market is estimated to be double the size of QBank’s current market, i.e Digital Asset Management (DAM).
